Methodology

What the figures measure

The homepage counts how many CoinGecko exchanges list no post-quantum coins, shows global post-quantum coin 24h volume, and tables the trust-rank 1–10 slice. The universe is CoinGecko’s exchange directory and is not limited to CEX or DEX. Dollar figures on every page are CoinGecko 24h trading volume. They are not proof of reserves, clean assets, or wallet balances.

Homepage headline

The lead figure is how many of CoinGecko’s exchanges list none of the post-quantum coin roster. The smaller figure is how many list at least one. CEX and DEX venues are both counted. The table below is still trust-rank 1–10, so Coinbase Exchange and Kraken stay in that ranking even when the headline counts every exchange.

An exchange counts as listing post-quantum coins when CoinGecko returns an active ticker whose base or quote CoinGecko id is on that roster. Stale and anomalous tickers are ignored. The post-quantum coin list is fetched from Quantum Canary; it is not hardcoded.

Listing coverage

The gauge is exchanges holding post-quantum coins ÷ all tracked CoinGecko exchanges. The labels match the homepage: how many are holding post-quantum coins, and the size of that universe.

Volume — not proof of reserves

Global post-quantum coins 24h is the sum of each post-quantum coin’s reported 24h volume across all venues. The subline is “across all venues.”

Per-exchange table

The homepage table lists CoinGecko trust ranks 1–10 in rank order. It is a slice of the hero universe, not the full exchange set. The columns match the table:

  • Post-quantum coins is unique post-quantum coin CoinGecko ids on those tickers (base or quote), over CoinGecko’s listed-coin count for that exchange — not the size of the post-quantum coin roster.
  • Vol Captured (24h) is converted USD volume on those pairs for that exchange. Those captured amounts are this trust-rank slice only, not every CoinGecko exchange.
  • % of Total Vol is that captured volume as a share of Global post-quantum coins 24h — not a share of that exchange’s own 24h book. Pair volume is not a strict subset of global per-coin volume, so the shares of the 10 exchanges need not add to 100%, and captured pair volume can exceed 100% of global.

Each exchange name links to that exchange’s detail page. The exchanges directory lists every CoinGecko exchange with search and pagination (25 per page); the homepage table stays at trust ranks 1–10.

Exchange page

The exchange page measures that exchange’s own book, not global post-quantum coin volume. The labels match the page:

  • Total 24h is converted USD volume on all active tickers on that exchange.
  • Post-quantum coin 24h is converted USD volume on that exchange where the base asset is a post-quantum coin. The gauge is post-quantum coin 24h ÷ Total 24h on that exchange — a different denominator from % of Total Vol on the tables.
  • “X of Y listed coins are post-quantum coins” counts unique active base assets that have a CoinGecko market cap. That Y is not CoinGecko’s listed-coin count from the directory tables. A base CoinGecko does not return a market cap is still listed in the tables with $0 market cap and is omitted from X and Y.

Vol Captured (24h) on the tables and Post-quantum coin 24h on the exchange page are related but not the same series. Tables count post-quantum coins as base or quote. The exchange page counts post-quantum coin bases from that exchange’s full ticker book.

The tables show the top 25 bases by CoinGecko market cap (or all of them when the book is smaller), with a post-quantum coin yes/no flag, and every post-quantum coin listed as a base, even when it is outside that set. Those figures are also 24h trading volume, not proof of reserves.

Post-quantum coin roster

The roster is a listing watchlist, not a spend-path grade. Algorand, NEAR, and XX Network are on it even though their transaction signatures are still classical. QRL, Quantus, Cellframe, Abelian, and QANplatform are on it and use lattice- or hash-based spend paths.

Limits

  • Public CoinGecko and Quantum Canary data only. This page does not test private systems or infer unpublished work.
  • This is a listing and volume diagnostic, not a penetration test, certification, or claim that an exchange is insecure.
  • A missing post-quantum coin listing is not treated as proof of insecurity.
  • The sample can change when CoinGecko or Quantum Canary updates.
